At MD2 Portland, you'll be cared for by two of the most respected primary care physicians in Oregon, Dr. J. Foster Manning and Dr. Steven Beeson. Both physicians are affiliated with Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center and Providence St. Vincent Medical Center and have long-standing ties with the top specialists and other medical institutions in the Portland area.
Dr. J. Foster Manning
Dr. Foster Manning is a prominent and distinguished Portland internist with a strong reputation for personalized patient care. With his affable personality, he has long been a favorite physician in the community.
Prior to MD2, Dr. Manning spent almost a decade as a managing partner at The Broadway Clinic, a successful multi-specialty physician group. In addition to caring for patients in his private practice, he has been active in teaching and research. Dr. Manning has served as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Oregon Health and Science University, teaching both physicians and medical students. He was a Principal Investigator involved in the development of several medications now standard in the care of heart disease and diabetes mellitus.
Dr. Manning graduated from the University of Washington magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa before attending the University of Washington School of Medicine. He then completed his residency at Oregon Health and Science University. Dr. Manning is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners, with a focus on cardiovascular and cancer preventative medicine and early detection. Dr. Manning has affiliations with both Legacy and Providence Hospital Systems.
Dr. Steven Beeson
Dr. Steven Beeson, a distinguished internist in Portland for over two decades, is widely known for his extraordinary diagnostic skills, his warm and engaging bedside manner, and his mentoring and teaching abilities. He is well respected for his deep commitment and dedication to providing the best patient care available.
Prior to joining MD², Dr. Beeson cared for patients in his private practice. As a faculty preceptor instructor at St. Vincent Medical Center and Oregon Health and Science University, Dr. Beeson has enjoyed teaching and mentoring students for over 25 years.
He received his B.A. from Oregon State University and went on to earn his medical degree from Oregon Health and Science University. Dr. Beeson then completed his internship and residency at St. Vincent Hospital, where he later served as Chairman of the Internal Medicine division. He has served as President of the Oregon Society of Internal Medicine, is board certified in internal medicine, and has been elected to Fellowship in the American College of Physicians.
Dr. Beeson is highly respected by his colleagues for his devotion to his patients and was named as one of the “best doctors of Portland” by Portland Monthly Magazine.
