At MD2 Park Avenue, you'll be cared for by two of the most respected and sought-after physicians in the Northeast, Dr. Shari Midoneck and Dr. Andrew McCullough, bringing combined expertise in internal medicine, infectious disease and cardiology. Both physicians are affiliated with NewYork Presbyterian Hospital and Weill Cornell Medicine and have long-standing ties with the top specialists and medical institutions in the Northeast.
Dr. Shari Midoneck
Dr. Shari Midoneck, a highly respected New York physician for over twenty years, is cherished by patients, students, and colleagues for her commitment to compassionate, personalized care and her dedication to teaching.
She graduated with her Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Union College summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, and earned her Doctorate of Medicine from Weill Cornell Medical College. After completing her internship, residency, and Infectious Disease fellowship training at New York Presbyterian Hospital– Weill Cornell Medical Center, Dr. Midoneck joined the full-time faculty in the department of Internal Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College, where she rose to her current rank of Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine. Dr. Midoneck has the rare distinction of being among a group of teachers called the “Master Clinicians” at Weill Cornell.
She was Associate Dean for Academic Affairs from 2010-2013 before joining MD². Currently, Dr. Midoneck is on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors for the Weill Cornell Alumni Association and a member of the Board of Trustees of Union College.
Early in her career, she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Throughout her career, she has received numerous “Excellence in Teaching” awards, including the AOA Voluntary Faculty Teaching Award twice since practicing at MD² Park Avenue. Before joining MD², she had a prominent practice at the Iris Cantor Women’s Health Center, a position she held for nearly two decades.
Dr. Midoneck is board certified in internal medicine and a fellow of the American College of Physicians.
Dr. Andrew McCullough
Dr. Andy McCullough, a respected New York City cardiologist and internist, strives to care for his patients as he would for his own family. He has quickly earned a strong reputation for his unwavering commitment to delivering compassionate, personalized care and has consecutively been recognized as a Top Doctor by New York Magazine for years.
After graduating with his Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana State University, he earned his Doctorate of Medicine from Mt Sinai School of Medicine in New York, where he graduated top of his class with multiple honors, including being elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital and his fellowship in cardiovascular diseases at Mt Sinai Hospital, where he rose to the rank of Chief Fellow.
Following his fellowship, Dr. McCullough served as an assistant attending physician at New York Presbyterian Hospital and an assistant professor of clinical medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College. He also has devoted much of his time to research activities as well as the education and mentorship of future physicians. Over the years, Dr. McCullough has been repeatedly recognized for his teaching and leadership roles.
His clinical interests and expertise predominantly include preventative cardiovascular health and coronary artery and valvular disease assessment. The connecting thread throughout his career has been a devotion to comprehensive patient care in internal medicine and non-invasive cardiology. Dr. McCullough is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease and is a fellow of The American College of Cardiology.
He lives in Manhattan with his wife and two wonderful daughters, who are the light of his life.
