Dr. Bjurstrom, a physician distinguished by his certification in three specialties, is perhaps most well-known for his exceptional patient care and consultative expertise. His compassion and affable personality have made him a favorite physician in the Bellevue community for two decades.
Dr. Bjurstrom graduated from the University of Washington School of Medicine, where he completed his training in three specialties: Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease, and Critical Care. He was awarded membership in the eminent Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) medical honor society, as well as granted highly regarded Fellowship status in both the American College of Chest Physicians and the Society of Critical Care Medicine. He is uniquely boarded in all three specialties.
In 1986, Dr. Bjurstrom joined Overlake Internal Medical Associates, where he served two consecutive terms as president of its Executive Committee. He continues to be an active member of the Overlake Medical Center, where he served as the Director of Respiratory Medicine until 2000.
