Dr. Allison Spatz, a highly sought-after cardiologist and internist for over 20 years, strives to care for her patients as she would for her own family. She has earned a superlative reputation for her unwavering commitment to delivering compassionate, personalized care. She has consecutively been recognized as a Top Doctor by New York Magazine for years and has been awarded the Exceptional Women in Medicine distinction for over a decade.
She graduated Phi Beta Kappa with her Bachelor of Arts degree from Lehigh University. She earned her Doctorate of Medicine from Mt Sinai School of Medicine in New York, where she graduated with multiple honors and merits. After completing a residency in internal medicine and serving as assistant chief resident, she went on to complete her fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at The New York Presbyterian-Cornell Weill Medical Center.
Following her fellowship, Dr. Spatz served as the Director of the Coronary Care Unit at North Shore University Hospital. She also volunteered for the American Heart Association campaign to help educate, diagnose and treat heart disease in women. Later, she became an attending physician and clinical instructor at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center.
Most recently, she served as president and managing partner of New York Cardiology Associates, a position she held for nearly twenty years while maintaining her clinical and academic titles at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center. Her clinical interests and expertise predominantly include preventative cardiovascular health and coronary artery and valvular disease assessment. The connecting thread throughout her career has been her devotion to comprehensive patient care in internal medicine and non-invasive cardiology. Dr. Spatz is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease and is a fellow of The American College of Cardiology.
She currently lives in New York City with her husband and enjoys kayaking, running, and cooking.
