Dr. Emily Hebert
Dr. Emily Hebert is a compassionate and accomplished physician with expertise in preventative and critical care medicine. Her journey began at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. She earned her Doctor of Medicine and completed her postgraduate training in internal medicine and pediatrics, rising to the rank of Chief Medical Resident in Internal Medicine.
Her professional path has been diverse: from serving as an attending physician in the emergency room at Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital to being a founding partner of Houston Adult and Pediatric Medical Associates. Dr. Hebert also contributed significantly as a pediatric hospitalist at Our Children’s House at Baylor, specializing in post-acute care for children with complex needs. Most recently, she served as a Preventive Medicine Physician at Cooper Clinic and practiced Concierge Medicine for over a decade.
Dr. Emily Hebert’s dedication to personalized care, combined with her diverse experiences, make her the ideal MD² primary care physician. Whether caring for an expectant mother or proactively supporting a patient’s long-term healthcare goal, she approaches each patient with empathy and expertise.
Dr. Hebert holds a certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine and is licensed by the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners.
Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Hebert has extensive experience as an expert medical contributor on local news stations here in Dallas. She spent five years participating in a weekly medical news segment at WFAA on the midday news, while also contributing to stories regarding breaking health related news. In 2011, she won the Anson Jones, MD award in the Physician Excellence in Reporting category for her contributions.
Dr. Charles T. Owens
Dr. Charles T. Owens, an internist and nephrologist, brings over 14 years of patient-centered care to MD2. His journey has been marked by a genuine passion for improving lives as well as educating others. Prior to joining MD², Dr. Owens served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center.
Dr. Owens earned his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine. He has broad clinical experience from General Internal Medicine, Palliative Care Medicine, and Acute/Critical Care Medicine.
During his residency in internal medicine at UT Southwestern, Dr. Owens honed his skills and developed a deep understanding of patient needs. He received his fellowship in nephrology from Harvard Medical School, where he trained at both Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and Nephrology.
Dr. Owens has made significant contributions to patient care, research, and education while serving on the teaching and clinical faculty at Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas from 2014-2019, and UT Southwestern faculty from 2020 to 2024. Dr. Owens is dedicated to teaching at all levels, from medical students, advanced practice nurses, residents, fellows, and most important patients. Educating and empowering patients to inform their individual care is a primary focus in his practice.
D Magazine recognized him in their Best Doctors list for nephrology in 2021. Additionally, he has received multiple teaching awards from the Departments of Nephrology, Internal Medicine, UTSW Medical School, and Critical Care Advanced Practitioners. Dr. Owens was also recognized as one of Texas Rising Stars from 2016 – 1018.
