Dr. Nathan Samras, a sought-after board-certified internal medicine physician, is lauded for his clinical acumen, empathic approach to medicine, and devotion to coaching and mentoring. He graduated from Duke University with a Bachelor of Science in biomedical engineering. He earned both his Doctorate of Medicine and Master of Public Health from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, where he was inducted into the prestigious Gold Humanism Honor Society.
After completing his residency in the two specialties of internal medicine and pediatrics at Georgetown University, he joined the faculty at Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia for several years before coming to Los Angeles. At UCLA Health he served as Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the David Geffen School of Medicine and Associate Clinical Chief in the Division of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. He was pivotal in establishing UCLA's inaugural primary care facility in Beverly Hills, where he served as the lead physician.
Dr. Samras was recognized as Top Doctor in 2024 by Best in California. Throughout his career he held many critical roles at UCLA outside of clinical medicine; his greatest passion was mentoring the next generation of physicians by founding a novel physician-to-physician coaching program that has been implemented throughout the Department of Medicine at UCLA Health.
Dr. Samras has a distinguished service history as a Peace Corps volunteer and United Nations employee in Malawi, Africa. He continues demonstrating his dedication to international development through a non-governmental organization he founded, which provides medical supplies to Nicaragua.
