Dr. Matthew Miller, a highly respected physician in Nashville for over two decades, is lauded for his clinical acumen, empathic approach to medicine, and devotion to teaching and mentoring. His steadfast commitment to patient-centered care has earned him a superlative reputation in the Nashville medical community.
He graduated cum laude from Abilene Christian University with his Bachelor of Science and earned his Doctorate of Medicine with honors at Texas A&M University System College of Medicine. His internship and residency were completed at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital, where he rose to the rank of Chief Resident in Pediatrics and was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) medical honor society.
After completing his residency, Dr. Miller joined Vanderbilt University Medical Center with a joint appointment in the Department of Internal Medicine and the Department of Pediatrics as an attending physician, a position he has maintained for over 16 years. He transitioned clinically into the Vanderbilt Executive Health and Concierge Medicine Group in March 2021 while maintaining his full-time faculty appointment as an Assistant Professor at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine.
Throughout his esteemed career, Dr. Miller has supported VUMC’s clinical efforts and the medical school’s educational efforts. His greatest passion is mentoring the next generation of physicians, and he has dedicated much of his career to doing so. In 2018, he was appointed to the Academy for Excellence in Education by the Vanderbilt School of Medicine in recognition of his dedication to teaching.
Dr. Miller is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics and an elected Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is happily married to Kathryn Miller, a local allergist, and enjoys spending time with their four children and being outdoors.
